MARCH ON Announces First Primary Endorsements in Conjunction with Affiliate March On! Texas

MARCH ON and Texas Affiliate Prepare to Activate their Marchroots Base in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio Primaries

Washington, DC – Today, in conjunction with its local affiliate March On! Texas, MARCH ON is announcing its first-ever endorsements in the midterm Primary elections. The organizations are supporting three strong Democratic candidates running in the Texas primaries: Gina Ortiz Jones (TX-23), Lizzie Pannill Fletcher (TX-7), and Lillian Salerno (TX-32) have been identified as candidates with the experience, policy platforms, and detailed agendas that will make them formidable change-makers in Congress. Now March On! Texas and MARCH ON will activate their marchroots base — the people who were moved to political action by the women’s marches — to get involved and throw their energy into these races. At a local level March On! Texas will be engaging their supporters through digital campaigns and grassroots organizing while MARCH ON will provide support to its sisters in Texas through voter organizing resources, technical support, and potential independent expenditures through its marchroots-funded Fight Back PAC.

“We are proud to be endorsing these incredible women,” said March On! Texas Executive Director Melissa Fiero. “They exemplify the values that March On! Texas is committed to, from promoting human rights and environmental protections to developing economic opportunity for all of us, including the most at-risk populations. We believe that these are the best candidates to bring positive change to the lives of everyday Texans, and now we are doing our part to make sure our supporters stay educated and engaged. We encourage everyone to get involved through giving their time, their money, and their vote to get these women elected and change the face of Texas for the better.”

“We are incredibly excited about supporting March On! Texas as they rally around these fantastic candidates, and MARCH ON will do everything we can to support them, including raising money through our Super PAC to reinforce their efforts,” said MARCH ON Executive Director Vanessa Wruble. “MARCH ON is committed to supporting the candidates and causes that the movement chooses, and as we head into the midterms we expect to see a surge of participation from our marchroots army.”

MARCH ON is a new political organization comprised of women-led political activist groups that grew out of the women’s marches of January 21, 2017. They have come together as a united force to take concrete, coordinated actions at the federal, state, and local levels to impact elections and take our country in a better direction. March On is not affiliated with Women’s March, Inc.
