MARCH ON and Fight Back PAC Announce Endorsement of Marie Newman in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District Race

Washington, DC – MARCH ON and its grassroots-funded Fight Back PAC are proud to announce their support of Marie Newman (IL-03) as she takes on an out-of-step Democratic incumbent in the primary. MARCH ON will activate its “marchroots” base to get involved and will provide support through voter organizing resources, technical support, and potential independent expenditures through its marchroots-funded Fight Back PAC.

“Marie Newman is the strong, progressive candidate we need right now in the 3rd District,” said MARCH ON Board Member Jessica Scheller. “Her commitment to protecting the rights of all, fighting big money in politics, and supporting a woman’s right to choose are of the highest importance for our district and the country. The grassroots is energized and fed up with a status quo Representative like Dan Lipinski, who is anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, and out of step with our values. We need a change and Marie Newman offers us the fresh start we need.”

“The 2018 midterms are going to be a watershed moment for progressive politics, and we are excited to be a part of it,” said Jaquie Algee, MARCH ON Board Chair. “We are fired up to jump into some of these crucial races that will help us drive positive, progressive change in this country. As a national organization, we will do everything we can to support our affiliates and the candidates they endorse, including raising money through our Super PAC to reinforce their efforts. MARCH ON is committed to supporting the candidates and causes that reflect the priorities of this movement, and as we head into the midterms we expect to see a surge of participation from our marchroots army.”

MARCH ON is a new political organization comprised of women-led political activist groups that grew out of the women’s marches of January 21, 2017. They have come together as a united force to take concrete, coordinated actions at the federal, state, and local levels to impact elections and take our country in a better direction. March On is not affiliated with Women’s March, Inc.
